About This Place

Located in the heart of Chicago at 8433 S Pulaski Rd, Vito & Nick's Pizzeria is a true gem for those craving authentic Italian and classic Chicago-style pizza. This beloved pizza restaurant effortlessly blends old-school charm with mouthwatering Italian-American flavors that have kept locals coming back for generations.

Step inside, and you’re instantly transported to a lively, nostalgic bar atmosphere reminiscent of a 90s sitcom, where friends gather over cold draft beers and delicious slices. The warm, welcoming vibe combined with attentive, friendly service makes every visit feel like coming home.

Vito & Nick’s menu is a treasure trove for pizza lovers and those hungry for hearty Italian dishes. Their signature pepperoni and sausage pizzas showcase a perfectly paper-thin, cracker-style crust—light and crisp with just the right char that adds an inviting smokiness. Complementing the crust, their fresh, high-quality cheese melts beautifully, stretching with every bite, while toppings are generously layered, bursting with classic savory richness. Notably, the Italian Beef Pizza and Chicago Tavern Style Pizza stand out as must-tries, each boasting robust, fresh flavors that paint a picture of their rich Chicago heritage.

Beyond pizzas, the menu dazzles with an array of tempting appetizers like fried calamari, crispy breaded mushrooms, and an assortment of uniquely tasty fried ravioli and zucchini fries. These are perfect for sharing and serve as great starters to complement the mains. Pasta lovers will find comfort in dishes like Mostaccioli and baked Mostaccioli, offering hearty, satisfying options beyond the pie. And for those who enjoy pairing their meal with a beverage, Vito & Nick’s offers a solid selection of cold draft beers and classic cocktails, including a seasonal Red Candy Apple Martini that adds a festive touch.

What truly makes Vito & Nick’s stand out is the consistency and care in every bite. Diners rave about the freshness of ingredients, the balance of sauce and cheese, and the nostalgic authenticity of the crust. One guest affectionately compared their visit to "walking into a bar from a 90s sitcom," capturing the genuine and relaxed ambiance that complements the food superbly. Another praised the “perfect char in the undercarriage” of the crust and the harmonious cheese-to-sauce ratio that makes each pizza slice a savory delight.

The restaurant operates on a cash-only policy, and it’s evident they focus on quality rather than gimmicks. This no-frills approach ensures the spotlight stays on what really matters: expertly crafted, flavorful pizza and Italian fare that satisfy cravings with every forkful or slice.

Whether you’re a pizza purist devoted to thin-crust classics or someone looking to dive into robust Italian sandwiches paired with crispy fries, Vito & Nick’s delivers hearty, soul-satisfying meals in a down-to-earth setting. After visiting, many leave with a warm sense of nostalgia, full bellies, and a strong desire to return — an experience that speaks volumes about the enduring legacy and passion behind this South Side institution.

I’ve been wanting to try Vito and Nick’s pizza for a while now. On a recent trip to Chicago, I finally got the chance. The restaurant had a classic old school feel, it felt like walking into a bar from a 90s sitcom! Service was great, pizza was ready on time. The toppings were all very fresh and tasted amazing, very high quality, as was the cheese. The cheese and toppings were both a generous amount. The sauce was excellent, very nicely seasoned and a good amount. The thin crust was cooked perfectly. The pizza had a nice smoky taste to it. Overall an amazing tavern style pizza from a historic icon. If you are in the area or even from away and you get the chance, try out Vito and Nick’s. It’s not every day you get to try pizza from a place that’s been around over 100 years, I’m glad i got to experience it.

Even tho it's been on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, it was popular way before. Their cracker crust pizza is a staple everytime I visit the south side of Chicago. CASH ONLY.... They get very busy & fast.. All their food is really great, the calamari is great but the pizza is my go to. We always get 1 pizza with fresh cracked egg on it, yes it's different or odd but it's really good. Make the trip and stop in. This is three original one on Pulaski rd

My first visit. Great service, love the old school bar vibe. Prices are very fair. I grew up on thin crust sausage-pizza.. so I have my taste buds calibrated to my preferred taste. This sauce was very bland, nearly like straight out of the can bland —- tasted fresh, just needed a bit of salt/sugar. I’m in no way putting it down, just not to my taste standards.

Haven’t been here in 17 years. But took my mom who has never been. It was an amazing experience. Exactly what I remember and expecting. I had a PBR on draft, my mom had a Red Candy Apple Martini which was the special drink for the holiday season. We got a large sausage and green pepper pizza (well done). And the pizza was amazing!!! The crust is paper thin so we ate the whole thing! If you are looking for amazing pizza from a place that has been in Chicago for over 100 years. This is it. I just hope it doesn’t take me 17 years to make my way back. The pizza is way too good to wait that long again. P.S. This is a cash only establishment

In Chicago for the weekend visiting from upstate NY. We stopped by Vito & Nick's on the way in. We had a half cheese and half pepperoni and a sausage. Super thin crust, Good char in the undercarriage with zero flop. Tomato sauce was fresh tasting and the toppings were good with a good cheese to sauce ratio. This place had been in operation for 120 years and it's easy to see why.

Went on a Friday night at 7pm and got seated right away! Our server was at our table right away to take drink/appetizer orders. We had the fried ravioli and it was really tasty! Also ordered the pizza and was not disappointed! The thin crust is crispy and delicious. Everything was perfect including the prompt service. Will definitely be back!
